International Branded Clothing Company

The client is an international branded clothing company, operating from a c. 500,000ft² warehouse in Burton-upon-Trent. The client was considering investments into automated warehouse technology, to optimise their warehouse.

Go Supply Chain’s Warehouse Consultants were asked to create a material flow model as a part of the investment appraisal. Go Supply Chain was able to analyse business data from ERP and WMS systems to build a picture of the current and projected material flows, based upon the current manual operation and the future prospects.

The model that was created was highly configurable and was handed over to the client for scenario evaluation. From this information and the models created, the client was able to accurately evaluate the payback against a number of possible investment scenarios – enabling them to choose the most efficient one.

The model created allowed the client sensitivity analysis surrounding growth projections and other changes to the business profile.

With Go Supply Chain’s Warehouse Consultant’s help, the client was then left in a better place to make informed decisions about the potential investments in warehouse automation, based upon evidence.
